I chose this book to read an excerpt from because it, the book, and its subject matter are relatable topics. As a pre-teen the work of Professor Kinsey grabbed my attention as I grappled with my understanding of myself and human sexuality. That led me to taking up Gender, Sexuality and Woman's Studies as an undergrad.
ALLurr'em VelvIT (She, Her, Goddess) is a founding member of Melanated Ménagerie, which is an all Black Burlesque Troupe that’s main focus is to showcase talented POC performers. Actively providing a safe space and equitable pay for artists that resemble herself. She's a North Minneapolis native born and bred and now living that Mile High Life.
