Sapphira began writing under her original name in Melbourne in 1998, when she worked at The Age CitySearch. She wrote reviews for the Clubbing & Nightlife online pages. She went on to broaden her career in print, becoming a music journalist for local street press Beat Magazine. Her feature stories appeared in Kiss FM magazine and Large Magazine. Whilst working in higher educational publishing at Macmillan Publishers her talent for prose was spotted and her poem Our Sisters was published on International Women’s Day in tribute to Dame Stephanie Shirley, a British IT entrepreneur turned philanthropist. She has been shortlisted in the Australian Songwriter’s Association Awards and the UK Songwriting Competition receiving commended entries.

Burlesque or Bust has been adapted for cabaret and a collaboration with renowned Italian pianist, Emilio Merone, has enabled Sapphira’s original songs G-String Budget, Chasing That Star, Love Nectar, I Got The Guy and Tease, to be scored on sheet music for live performance with the pair working to bring the first act of a musical to completion. Now a resident of The Poetry Brothel in London, Sapphira is preparing to release her first album, Mistress, produced by her husband, Tonestepa, and writing her first poetry book, Soliloquy, illustrated by Sir Charles Billich whose work is in the White House and the Vatican. She has been supported by both Charles and Christa of Billich Gallery with whom she attended Cannes Film Festival.
